Yes on the backup question, then drop the meshes folder in your data folder from the mod file to install manually. There may not even be a file in that folder to overwrite as the vanilla skeleton I think is in the bsa file, but game will use files on your hard drive over the bas files, same as skyrim.

The skins have nothing to do with the skeleton, meshes and textures for the body of your choice will still be required to be installed otherwise its still vanilla.

I would install the skeleton and then launch and make sure game works before adding another mod, rinse and reapeat, Don't add 50 mods at once and then expect it to work or fallout new vegas bouncing natural breasts mod download able to figure out why, baby steps.
